This is a song about noticing when you've become inaccessable to your loved ones (perhaps in a brave attempt to be self-sufficient).

I wrote this as though I was talking to my best friend on the phone.

How I fought to get to you,
How I struggled for my life,
How I tried to live it right.
How I fled without a thought
When I knew I wasn’t ready for the fight.

But I’m older, my spirit’s bigger now,
And that’s not how I want to live my life.

Oh my love, if you could only see
How much time I wished to spend with your babies.
Spent most of my life waiting for a man,
Saving space for one to take my hand,
Regularly dropping the precious things in life
That I do have.

And in this magical life
The magical realism got too real.
I push away the thoughts that I’m
Not strong enough to feel.

I isolate myself to clear my thoughts,
But needing you, and being needed,
Is the food that my thoughts want.
